The Friendship That Never Was
By: Scott Fueston

After the dust has settled and the emotions have run,
I can conclude what was said is done.
And I don't think things between us will ever be the same,
It hurts me that our friendship has grown lame.

But I feel my decision is the right one to make,
Because it seems that this friendship is a fake.
You don't respect my opinion,
So how can I yours?

I think it best that we both go our different ways,
What was once has now gone astray.
What hurts the most is you fooled me to think we were equals,
But fool me once there will be no sequels.

I gave you my caring view,
You took it and threw it askew.
I see now you think I am inferior,
Just a kid to whom you are superior.

I not going to get angry or show any grief,
I'm just going to learn and fiend relief.
